Hamilton Ledger Co. ("we," "us") provides bookkeeping services. This policy explains what information we collect through hamiltonledgerco.com and our services, and how we handle it. The short version: we collect only what we need to do your books, we never sell your data, and your financial information is treated like it's our own.
Through the website: contact details you submit when booking a call (name, email, phone, business name) and standard analytics data (pages visited, device type, approximate location) if analytics tools are enabled. Through the service, for clients only: business financial records you share with us, and transaction data accessed on a read-only basis through your accounting software (such as QuickBooks Online). We never request, store, or have access to your banking passwords, and we cannot move money.
To respond to inquiries, schedule calls, perform the bookkeeping services you engage us for, send service-related communications, and improve the website. If you opt into marketing emails, every message includes an unsubscribe link that we honor immediately.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial information. We do not share client financial data with anyone except the software vendors necessary to perform the services (e.g., QuickBooks/Intuit, Stripe for payments, our scheduling tool), professionals you direct us to share it with (such as your CPA), or where required by law.
Payments are processed by Stripe; scheduling by our booking provider; accounting data lives in your accounting software. Each operates under its own privacy policy, and we choose reputable, encrypted providers.
We use encrypted, industry-standard software, read-only financial connections, and access limited to those performing your services. We retain client records for as long as needed to provide services and meet legal obligations; you may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to records we're legally required to keep.
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing books@hamiltonledgerco.com. Your books always belong to you, and on ending services we transfer full control to you.
